But, as Tenn spent his life trying to wipe memories with a bottle, the surviving traumas materialize tonight in the forms of his doomed former lover and lobotomized sister. As Tenn tries to cherish just one more memory with them, he relives the reasons why he ran from here to begin with. More!

    (2F, 2M) Three childhood friends all lost their fathers: Marlene to abandonment years ago, Lucy to suicide months ago, and John to drunk driving weeks ago. On Halloween, 2004, these three reunite to contact Lucy’s dead mother from beyond to help Lucy steal her identity and flee the country. But the ghosts of their fathers haunt them this night, and cast a shadow over who these three are. More!

  • Lost in 3 Pines

    (4F, 2M) Lyuba lives in an oven with her husband, her mother-in-law, her husband’s boss, and her husband’s boss’s wife, repeating the same routine daily. But when a student appears, asking her, “What do you do?”, Lyuba realizes she can bend the laws of space and time. Each of the four acts of this play take on a different form of theatre (absurdism, commedia dell’arte, farce, realism) as Lyuba, like her ally, the audience, tries to understand what is happening.     (3F, 1M) Inspired by Medea, Matea is a Jewish woman living in secret in a concentration camp with Jonas—a fast-rising, Nazi officer—and their son. As Jonas begins supervising the new head doctor, Matea is visited by Prisoner 4712, who implores Matea to kill the doctor, as well as by Alma, an ancestor hiding inside Matea’s record player. More!

  • Pippy Doodle’s Ice Cream Party (immediately following the Seagull)

    (6F, 4M) Tonight’s show begins with an abstract (read: a woman and puppets) interpretation of The Seagull directed by Elvira, followed by a new play: Pippy Doodle’s Ice Cream Party. As Elvira’s play fails and the cast and crew prepare to put on the rest of the doubleheader, arguments and dynamics unfold parallel to The Seagull itself (which the characters acknowledge as being too similar to previous deconstructions of the play). As characters from The Seagull appear and try to alter the course of the play, Elvira recognizes that the final act will never change. More!

    (5F, 5M) I genuinely don’t know, man. I got COVID and wrote this and it’s my best play. It loops forever and the characters change parts and it’s a comedy about how capitalism can and will replace all of us. More!

  • Girl on Parade

    (1F) A tyrannical and witty submarine captain, Cappy, berates her crew through their descent into darkness. However, her crew is a jar of kimchi, a potted rose, a shower towel, a novelty doll, and a stuffed lamb. While vital details of the mission remain rumors that Cappy hoards to herself, they all know they descend into darkness and are unlikely to return. Amidst revelry and whispers of mutiny, the crew discovers a secret at these depths, as well as the Leviathan who wants it kept. More!

    When they were seven and five, Emily had to save Maya from drowning in a river. Five years later, Emily still believes she has to save Maya. Maya, on the other hand, got a messiah complex. Upon their parents’ divorce, Maya ropes Emily into blackmailing their local pickpocket Lyft driver for a trip across Michigan, where a cult that claims to receive regular divine intervention has invited the pair.
